This hands-on workshop is designed to help educators build the skills and strategies necessary for fostering an inclusive classroom environment. In this session, participants will explore the importance of cultural competence and learn how to effectively recognize and address the diverse cultural backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles of their students. Through interactive activities, case studies, and real-world examples, educators will gain practical tools to create culturally responsive lesson plans, promote equity, and build strong relationships with students from various cultural contexts. The workshop will emphasize self-reflection, understanding implicit biases, and developing strategies for communicating with families from diverse backgrounds. By the end of the session, educators will feel empowered to implement inclusive teaching practices that not only enhance student engagement and success but also create a positive, respectful learning environment for all students. Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1-1/2 Consortium seats. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
