This workshop will provide teachers with a complete understanding of what dyslexia is, how you can identify it, and ways to support students with dyslexia in the classroom. You will review current definitions of dyslexia, including recent legislation. Guidance surrounding dyslexia, gain a greater understanding of how dyslexia affects the brain, learn common characteristics associated with dyslexia and the necessary components of an evaluation for dyslexia, explore effective reading, writing and math programs for students with dyslexia and create a toolkit to accommodate challenges and maximize potential strengths. Audience: Educators and Administrators K-12 Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1 Consortium seat. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
