Supporting Students with Executive Functioning Challenges:Classroom Strategies for Addressing Lagging Skills

This lively, informative, and strategy-based workshop will provide participants with an understanding of the eight domains of executive functioning. For each domain, we will share strategies that educators can readily implement in the classroom. Attendees will learn ways to address challenges such as organization, transitions, and emotional regulation. In this interactive session, participants will dive into the key components of executive functioning, learning not only what each domain is but how it manifests in students' behavior and performance. We'll connect theory to practice by offering a wide array of evidence-based, classroom-friendly strategies that support skill development and improve outcomes for struggling learners. Through guided discussion, reflection, and collaborative activities, participants will gain a new lens for viewing common student struggles-not as defiance or laziness, but as lagging skills that can be supported, taught, and strengthened. Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1-1/2 Consortium seats. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
